Ooops I meant be aware of Aloe Vera!   The use of Aloe Vera can be traced back thousands of years to the ancient Egyptians, who named it ‘the plant of immortality’.   Russians refer to it as the ‘the elixir of longevity’, and the American Indians call it ‘the wand of heaven’.  These are but just a few of the very fitting titles it has been given.  The benefits of this magical plant are endless, although in America today most people only think of using it topically for a sunburn.  It is said that Cleopatra used it to protect her skin from the sun and consumed  the gel to keep her skin looking young from the inside.  Alexander the Great was known to have carried the plant into battle to treat the cuts and wounds of his soldiers. The Spanish Conquistadors and Missionaries were probably responsible for taking Aloe Vera to the “new world”. Aloe Vera was planted around missions and used extensively by missionaries and the native population as a universal healing agent.
